December 10th was our third meeting and also our Christmas get together. Fifteen members attended although there are only 14 on the photo, Jean Louis Giroux had to leave early. Thanks to Claudette and Don Redstone for the nummy punch, and to those who brought goodies. Hey we had fun in more ways than one, some of us had brought our baby pictures so others could guess who was who, we took a look at what ISO, F-stop and apperture meant and the challenge.. oh ya the challenge, well we discussed last month's challenge, where someone had used a rating of zero, when the rule says a number from 1 to 4, Stephen Methot explained how the challenge works, what "composition, technical ability and there rendition" meant. I figured everyone understood by the end of the evening when it was time to judge the December challenge. But two votes had to be disqualified because they had only voted for 10 out of 11 photos, one was added at the last minute so maybe someone was voting while they should have been listening ;)

By the way, check out the challenges for the upcoming year, next month is "unusual shapes", never know what someone will come up with. As it was pointed out at the meeting, to some of you having a challenge may seem silly but it will help you learn a lot about photography, the rules of photography, it will help you develop a good eye also. Last month I passed a paper around asking everyone what they wanted to get out of the club and about 75% said develop a good eye.

The winner of this month's challenge will be announced at next month's meeting.
